Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking an Assembly Technician in Grand Haven, MI. You will perform manual and mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies, ensuring quality through measurements and visual checks.

Responsibilities include reading process instructions, organizing workstation components, using hand tools, and recording production data. A high school diploma, reliable attendance, and adherence to safety policies are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Reliable/excellent attendance record.
  • Negative drug screen.
  • Able to work cooperatively with team members and leadership.
  • Adherence to personal protection requirements (safety glasses, etc.)
  • Adherence to company general policies and quality procedures.
  • Ability to receive and follow directions and work instructions from Lead Person or Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Reads and deciphers Process Instructions and Product Prints.
  • Obtains from Staging Area and properly organizes the required components at the workstation to perform the required assembly operations.
  • Uses pliers, screwdrivers, wire clippers, wrenches, fixtures, and other assembly tools to perform the required assembly operations.
  • Operates manual, electric, or pneumatic hand or bench tools.
  • Operates electric oven, such as to cure fiberglass cores.
  • Upon completion of sub-assembly or assembly, follows Quality Criteria instructions in Process Instructions to verify the product meets requirements, e.g., visual inspection, pull test, measurement with rule or gage, etc.
  • Records production on computer.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 25 lbs. with no restrictions.
  • Healthy wrist-arm motion - will be using hand tools.
  • Ability to work with acetones, thinners, epoxies, solders and sealants and other manufacturing materials without allergic reactions.
  • Ability to read process sheets and follow directions.
  • Flexibility to work at various workstations in assembly departments as production mix changes.
  • Most general assembly jobs require standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Vision, with or without correction, must be adequate to perform the required job functions.
