Qualifications

• Medical Degree or equivalent required.
• Board Certification in Anesthesiology required.
• Unrestricted California license as Physician required.
• Medical Staff membership per CSMC bylaws and regulations.
• Five years of active clinical experience in anesthesiology.
• Excellence in teaching and in organizing clinical/non-clinical activities.
• Evidence of exceptional academic, clinical, professional and administrative accomplishment.

Responsibilities

• Lead administrative and clinical functions of the OR general anesthesia section, including quality, safety, patient experience, personnel, scheduling and productivity.
• Establish annual section goals aligned with departmental priorities; track progress and report outcomes.
• Oversee OR provider coverage, scheduling, and case assignments to ensure timely access and equitable workload.
• Recommend staffing levels and competencies; support recruitment and retention.
• Ensure efficient OR operations and patient flow in partnership with perioperative leadership.
• Onboard and orient new clinicians and trainees to the ORs.
• Serve as the contact for operational escalations and coordinate problem resolution.
• Develop and maintain policies for safe anesthesia care across pre-, intra-, and post-op; communicate updates.
