Job summary

Yulista Solutions LLC is seeking a General Aircraft Mechanic to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on NASA fleet aircraft, simulators, and UAS. The role requires adherence to safety standards, certification requirements, and careful documentation of all repairs.

The technician will work 10-hour shifts Fri–Mon with potential overtime, using NAMIS for maintenance records and complying with QA and regulatory requirements to ensure airworthiness and mission readiness.

Qualifications

  • Two years of aircraft maintenance experience with fixed wing aircraft.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Ability to work 10-hour shifts Fri–Mon and handle overtime if required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain NAMIS data and document maintenance actions for NASA aircraft.
  • Perform aircraft maintenance on mechanical systems and ground support equipment.
  • Read and follow Engineering Work Orders (EWOs) and complete instructions timely.
  • Disassemble, repair, clean, and reinstall aircraft components.
  • Ensure housekeeping, tool control, FOD prevention, and QA compliance.

Primary Function

A General Aircraft Mechanic performs scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance according to applicable standards across the NASA fleet of aircraft, simulators, and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and associated payload systems. Comply withall mandated certification requirements, including safety training, guidance on local processes, and general project orientation.

Must be able to work 10-hour shifts Friday – Monday with possible overtime.

Pay rate for this role is $52.11 per hour

Essential Duties
  • Use NASA’s automated maintenance data system (NAMIS) tomaintainequipment records, and document maintenance actions for all repairs to NASA assignedaircraft.

  • Performs maintenance on aircraft, including mechanical systems and/or ground support equipment (GSE).

  • Must be familiar with Engineering Work orders (EWO’s) and be able to complete required instructions ina timelyandaccuratemanner.

  • Remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall aircraft components and accessories.

  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) preventionin accordance withcompany and NASA policies and procedures.

  • Perform scheduled and un-scheduledaircraftmaintenance inspections and repairs asrequired.

  • Performaircraftground support duties, including towing,marshallingand jackingaircraft.

  • Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) andestablishedregulatory requirements.

  • Comply withsafety rules and regulations while performing day to day maintenance. Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures to supervisor.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalentrequired.

  • Requires a minimum of two years of aircraft maintenance experience with fixed wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft.

  • Individual must have the communication skills required to interface and coordinate with the Operations engineers and other technically qualified personnel

  • Individual must be physically capable of working in confined spaces

  • Must be capable of performing physical labor including, walking, standing, lift up to 40 lbs., pulling, climbing up and down aircraft ladders and agility/dexterity to perform duties assigned.

  • Individual must be able to pass a NASA administered physical

  • Must possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification or obtain one within 1 year of hire date.

Working Environment

A fast paced multi-tasking customer service oriented environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities. Overtime may be required.
