Job summary

The Lindy Group is seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to support cost-focused accounting across divisions. This role offers ownership over tasks, a family-owned culture, and involvement in a growing portfolio within the PJ Dick-Trumbull-Lindy Group family.

Responsibilities include invoicing, journals, cost reporting, and cash posting, with ongoing opportunities for professional growth and a competitive bonus structure.

Qualifications

• 4 year business or accounting degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or related roles

Responsibilities

• Prepare, reconcile and process autopay invoices, including hourly trucking and certain tonnage trucking, material purchases and service providers
• Prepare, reconcile and process internal journal entries, including job accruals and internal trucking
• Monitor trucking inbox and resolve payment issues with vendors
• Maintain cost report for small, internal and miscellaneous jobs, including timesheets and customer billings
• Post and/or monitor cash receipts for a subset of our companies and serve as a backup for all others
• Perform additional reconciliations on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis to maintain accurate accounting cycles
• Perform additional assignments per direction of supervisor(s)

What You'll Do

What You Bring

Educational and experience requirements include: 4 year business or accounting degree plus minimum 2 years experience or equivalent combinations training and related experience. Working knowledge of general office procedures plus ability to organize and coordinate group work efforts required. Proficient research, supervisory and communicative skills essential. Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in interpreting and applying Company policies and procedures.

A note on the role: while some tasks are administrative, this is not a clerical or data-entry position. We're looking for someone who brings discretion, independent judgment, and a problem-solving mindset to the table.
