Job summary

Lilly is building a cutting-edge gene therapy QC capability in Lebanon, Indiana. The Sr.

Principal Chemist supports new product introductions, commercialization, and ongoing testing, acting as a site SME and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, compliant, and scientifically sound analysis for clinical and commercial supply. The role demands a senior scientist with hands-on assay experience in gene therapy spaces, strong problem-solving, and the ability to mentor lab staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or another related science discipline.
• 7+ years of advanced therapy experience in gene therapy, LVV, LNP, or AAV environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site SME for gene therapy analytical methods and support the QC team.
• Lead method transfer, qualification, and validation for acquisitions and internal programs.
• Execute in-process, release, and stability testing while ensuring data integrity and GMP compliance.
• Support site readiness and capability build-out for post-start operations and lifecycle management.
