Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, seeks a Principal Security Research Engineer on the Threat Research and Detection Engineering (TRaDE) team to shape detection capabilities for Elastic Security. You will work hands-on with detection engineering and threat research, focusing on AI security and offensive methods to validate detection content.

Responsibilities include designing security tests for GenAI apps, investigating new threat vectors, and presenting findings to the team and community.

Qualifications

• Experience with endpoint data and detection engineering for GenAI.
• Hands-on use of LLM tools for security testing and research.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and ML frameworks.
• Ability to triage findings and communicate risks clearly to audiences.
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and MITRE ATLAS exposure.

Responsibilities

• Design and run security tests for GenAI apps, agentic systems, and LLM-backed products.
• Investigate new multi-domain threat vectors and translate into protections (detections).
• Create and present findings to enhance team knowledge and community awareness.
• Apply AI-assisted techniques to expand coverage and accelerate validation.
