Job summary

TikTok is seeking a PhD-level researcher to join the Recommendation organization in California. The role focuses on advancing genAI, computer vision, and multi-modality understanding for business use, including pretraining, large language models, image and video generation, and deployment in real-world scenarios.

You will conduct cutting-edge research, translate ideas into production, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business metrics while delivering state-of-the-art outputs.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science or related field.
• Experience in computer vision, natural language processing and machine learning.
• Strong knowledge of major deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, MXNet, Caffe/Caffe2).
• Familiar with transformer/SSM/CNN/RNN/LSTM architectures.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct development and research on cutting-edge CV, NLP, multi-modality, LLM, generative modeling.
• Follow SoTA progress and translate ideas into production.
• Lifecycle model development from training to deployment and business use.
