Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Research Scientist Graduate for the Recommendation group in San Jose. This role focuses on advancing computer vision, NLP, and multimodal AI to improve content understanding and generation, with opportunities to work on foundational models and state-of-the-art research outputs.

The ideal candidate is completing or has completed a PhD in CS or a related field, with strong skills in DL frameworks and architectures, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science or related field completed or near completion.
• Experience in CV, NLP, and ML.
• Proficiency with major DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, MXNet, Caffe/Caffe2).
• Familiar with transformer/CNN/RNN/LSTM architectures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct development and research on cutting-edge CV, NLP, multi-modality, LLM, generative modeling.
• Follow SoTA progress and translate ideas into production.
• Lifecycle model development from training to deployment to business use.
