Job summary

SOMERSET STAFFING is seeking a technical AI/ML lead to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions for smart buildings. You will develop GenAI features, integrate AI across cloud, edge, and on-premise environments, and collaborate with software engineers and product teams.

You will mentor teams, establish AI engineering best practices, evaluate new tools, and ensure reliable model performance, monitoring, and governance in BAS, IoT, and industrial settings.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in modern development practices.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning solutions.
• Experience with Python and common AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience building and integrating Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, data pipelines, and production deployment practices.
• Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS), industrial controls, IoT, or smart building technologies.
• Experience supporting Agile/Scrum development teams.

Responsibilities

Pillar 1: Build AI-Powered Products As a technical contributor, you will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions that create measurable value for customers and operators. Responsibilities include: Design, build, and deploy AI/ML models and GenAI capabilities across cloud, edge, and on-premises environments. Pillar 2: Accelerate Team Capability & Velocity As an AI advocate and technical leader, you will help the broader engineering organization adopt modern AI practices and tooling.

Responsibilities include: Identify and implement AI-assisted developer tools that improve software delivery velocity. Leverage AI to enhance code generation, software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows. Establish AI engineering best practices, standards, and governance across teams. Mentor engineers on AI technologies, frameworks, and implementation strategies. Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies and recommend opportunities for adoption. Drive the responsible and practical use of AI throughout the software development lifecycle.
