Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Applied Scientist to join the SPB Off-Search team, focusing on Generative AI and Large Language Models to transform ad retrieval, allocation, and personalization. You will build novel generative models using Amazon data to reshape customer interactions with ads and shopping experiences.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree plus 4+ years of CS/CE/ML experience.
• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Strong foundation in GenAI, LLMs, ML, DL, probabilistic modeling, and/or optimization.
• Experience deploying models in real-world production environments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of GenAI, deep learning, multi-objective optimization and/or RL-powered solutions for ad retrieval, auctions, whole-page relevance, and bespoke shopping experiences.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with scientists, engineers, and PMs to deliver scalable, production-ready science solutions.
• Stay abreast of GenAI, LLMs and related trends, bringing innovative concepts and prototypes to the org.
• Enhance scientific and technical rigor by identifying best-in-class algorithms and infrastructure for rapid experimentation and scaling.
• Mentor and grow junior scientists and engineers, fostering a high-performing team.
