Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for the AZA Gen AI initiative. The role focuses on building AI-native systems, orchestration, and multi-agent workflows. You will own meaningful components, ship features end-to-end, and work with senior engineers to shape the platform's future.

The position demands deep SDLC expertise, collaboration across teams, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with manufacturing-level reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic systems: orchestration, skills, sub-agents, MCP tools, evaluation frameworks
• Ship features end-to-end from design through production deployment
• Work across the stack: LLM integration, distributed systems, real-time APIs, infrastructure-as-code
• Collaborate with Sr. PE, PEs and Sr. engineers on architecture decisions that shape the platform's future
