Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Data and AI Solution Architect to join our Business Technology team. You will design and deliver scalable AI-enabled solutions across data engineering, APIs, and platforms, translating business needs into practical architectures.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, strategic thinking, and a proven track record in AI/ML implementations, AI agents, and Gen AI, with cloud platform experience and agile delivery. This hybrid role supports work in the United States.

Qualifications

6 years of related experience.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Develop and design the architecture for Gen AI and AI agent solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
Design how AI solutions securely access and use enterprise data and integrate with business applications, APIs, data platforms, and existing ecosystems.
Develop architecture diagrams, technical designs, solution patterns, and roadmaps.
Engage with business partners to translate requirements into technical designs.
Evaluate AI approaches and recommend solutions based on value, feasibility, cost, and risk.
Develop prototypes and proof of concept solutions to demonstrate AI capabilities.
Contribute to the AI vision and roadmap of Business Technology.
Mentor junior team members and promote learning and development.
Promote reusable architectures and design patterns for AI capabilities.
