Job summary

The Watches of Switzerland Group in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Distribution Center Quality Control Specialist to evaluate and certify the quality, authenticity, and value of gemstones and to inspect workmanship from brand partners and showrooms. You will learn all DC functions and assist across the distribution center.

You will distinguish natural from synthetic stones, use microscopes for testing and authentication of color, clarity, cut, and carat weight, and document findings for insurance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in gemology or equivalent education.
• Experience in the jewelry field and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Distinguish between natural and synthetic/lab-grown stones.
• Use microscopes and polariscopes to inspect jewelry and authenticate color, clarity, cut, and carat weight.
• Recommend repair/replacement actions for damaged products.
• Provide insurance valuations and write reports documenting gemstone characteristics and value.
• Stay current with market trends, new gemstones, and grading standards changes.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients, designers, retailers, and manufacturers.
• Perform inventory reconciliations with all DC locations.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
