Job summary

Bass Pro Outdoor World is hiring for a Gelcoat A position. The role involves applying gel coat to production hull and deck molds, liners, and small parts using hand-operated spray equipment. You will measure coverage with a mil gauge and ensure color accuracy while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The position is 2nd shift (2:30 pm–11:00 pm) with a $2.00 per hour shift differential and an ongoing work environment that includes outdoor/indoor settings, heat, humidity, and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with gel coat application is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply gel coat to production hull and deck molds using hand-operated spray equipment.
• Measure coating coverage with a mil gauge and ensure color accuracy.
• Perform pre-spray checks and final mold surface cleanup with tack cloth.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and perform routine spray gun maintenance.
• Carry out all other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Gelcoat A position applies gel coat to production hull and deck molds, liners, and small parts by using hand operated spray equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• This is a 2nd shift position. Hours are 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm
• There will be a shift differential of $2.00 per hour
• This shift is Sunday through Thursday
• Performs pre-spray check of spray equipment and material to ensure proper operation and appropriate color.
• Performs final cleaning of mold surfaces with a tack cloth.
• Operates spray gun to apply various coats of gel coat to the molds. Specific amounts of gel coat must be applied and measured with a mil gauge. Specifications as to percentage of coverage of gelcoat are required and checked visually
• Performs daily cleaning and minor maintenance routines on the spray guns.
• Maintains clean, safe, and hazard free work area.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Various pistol grip type spray guns
• Hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers and utility knives
• Spray pump systems
• Ability to identity colors and shades
