GE Vernova is seeking a student intern to join the Systems Architecture team and contribute to Generative AI initiatives, automation projects, and services productivity. You will work with Engineering, Services, manufacturing, and digital technology teams to pilot AI-driven tools and validate prototypes on site.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, data collection, and creating training materials for handover.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Computer Science Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

As a student within the Systems Architecture team, you will be an active contributor to the application of Generative AI in product management, the execution of automation solutions and other services productivity initiatives.

Job Description

What you’ll do (Job Responsibilities)

• Assist in developing AI-driven tools to improve and augment key business functions in engineering and product management.
• Engage with cross‑functional teams, including Engineering, Services, manufacturing and digital technology, to integrate new methodologies.
• Support the training and adoption of Generative AI tools within the organization.
• Technical Research & Prototyping: Assist the engineering team in subcomponent selection, hardware research, and lab‑based prototype demonstrations to validate automation initiatives.
• Data Gathering & Computer Vision: Drive collection of visual data from site visits.
• Documentation & Operational Enablement: Help bridge the gap between development and field operations by assisting in the creation of training materials, and documentation required for handover to the services teams.
• Work with the services team to drive productivity initiatives for planned inspections and upgrades.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science Engineering.
• Demonstrated basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Eligibility Requirements: Ability to work on‑site as required by the business; must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

The pay range for this position is $1,000-$2,000 USD weekly. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for:

Relocation Assistance: Co‑op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

Housing Allowance: Co‑op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off‑set living expenses when the co‑op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.

GE Vernova Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
