GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear offers a January 2027 internship opportunity at the Wilmington, NC site. You will join the outage team, supporting field service engineers to service legacy reactor fleets safely and efficiently.
Interns train, travel to outages, and work on shorter projects when not at outages, gaining hands-on experience in nuclear field engineering and customer service under supervision.

Students will be exposed to our GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy business, which provides a perfect opportunity for us to learn about you and your interests and for you to learn about GE and a career with us.
Field Engineering interns work onsite with and for our customers with legacy fleet reactors. You will provide immediate value as part of the outage team, servicing our customers’ reactors safely, effectively, and efficiently, to get them back on-line.
Candidates will have the opportunity to work with experienced Field Service Engineers in a fast-paced, challenging environment performing maintenance and inspection activities on Boiling Water Reactors. Interns will attend entry level technical training, travel to domestic nuclear refueling outages and be assigned shorter duration projects at the Wilmington, NC site when not at outages. At outages, interns will be work as part of high-performance teams to perform safe and error-free work for our customers.

The pay range for this position is $1,000-$2,000 USD weekly. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
