Job summary

GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy is seeking engineering, science, or business students for an internship beginning May 2027 to support the licensing team in Wilmington, NC. Interns will receive technical training and mentorship from highly experienced engineers and managers while tackling licensing-related assignments, codes and standards, and regulatory analyses.

This paid internship offers hands-on experience, reports, data, and collaboration across teams, with competitive weekly compensation

Hiring Requirements

As an Intern, you will:

• Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class highly experienced engineers and technical managers
• Grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.
• Experience technically challenging assignments in the power generation industry focusing on areas such as codes & standards, regulatory requirements, systems and component design & analyses, for new reactor licensing
• Prepare reports, data bases, presentations, solve problems, implement innovative initiatives, and collaborate with the team and other organizations.

Minimum Qualifications & Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university in engineering, science, project management, or business management.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be willing to work in Wilmington, NC

The pay range for this position is $1,000-$2,000 USD weekly. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

• Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.

• GE Vernova Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
