Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Electrical or Computer Engineering intern to evaluate and validate next-generation Distribution Management System applications in Bellevue, WA. You will bridge software development and grid operations, designing tests, documenting results, and helping educate users.

You will work with Linux-based environments, learn ArgoCD and GitOps deployments, and contribute to quality assurance while communicating findings through training materials for grid operators and engineers.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a motivated Electrical or Computer Engineering intern to join our team, focusing on the evaluation and validation of next-generation Distribution Management System (DMS) applications. In this role, you will play a key part in bridging the gap between innovative software development and real-world grid operations. You will evaluate new applications, ensure they meet industry deployment standards, identify technical defects, and help educate our user base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Evaluation:Perform hands-on testing of new Distribution Management applications to assess their functionality, reliability, and integration capabilities within our existing power system environments.
• Test Development:Design and build comprehensivetest casesto validate application performance, edge cases, and user requirements, ensuring all new features meet rigorous quality standards.
• Deployment Feasibility:Analyze software requirements to determine if new applications can be deployed using standard industry tooling, specifically leveragingGitOpsprinciples andArgoCDfor automated deployments withinLinux-based environments.
• Quality Assurance & Debugging:Actively "stress test" new products by identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs. You will work closely with development teams to verify fixes and ensure a seamless end-user experience.
• Technical Documentation:Translate complex software features into user-friendly training materials, including technical guides, how-to videos, and internal knowledge-base articles to assist grid operators and engineers.

Required Qualifications:

Employment Dates: May 2027-August 2027

The pay range for this position is $1,000-$2,000 USD weekly. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
