Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a GCS Chemical Equipment Engineer to own, commission, maintain and improve bulk and specialty chemical operations on site. You will partner with operations, maintenance and vendors to ensure safety, reliability and efficient throughput of chemical systems.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, driving CI projects, coordinating maintenance, supporting MOC/PHAs/FMEAs, and mentoring junior engineers while upholding safety and quality standards.

Formación

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of semiconductor, oil & gas, or chemical manufacturing operations experience.
• Knowledge of safety, hazard materials and process controls; ability to interact with cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Own chemical systems, safety, quality standards and improvements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical direction.
• Drive continuous improvement projects for quality, reliability and cost savings.
• Oversee preventative and breakdown maintenance and coordinate with Fab Engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and support MOCs, PHAs and FMEAs.

Position Summary

In your role as a GCS Chemical Equipment Engineer, you’ll work with a talented team focused on comprehensively owning, commissioning, maintaining, and improving bulk and specialty chemical operations at Samsung Semiconductor.

You’ll provide support by interacting with the on-site operations/maintenance team for daily optimization and improvement of the chemical equipment. In addition, you will be coordinating with equipment vendors and various internal Samsung groups to ensure safe and efficient completion of operations tasks and projects.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Chemicalequipmentengineerwillprovidetechnicalexpertiseandownershipforchemicalsystems,safetyandqualitystandards,andimprovementsforthosesystems.Theywillinteractwiththeoperations,maintenance,designandconstructionteamswithinSamsungaswellaswiththechemicalequipmentvendorstosustainandmaintainequipment.


• Troubleshootemergentequipmentissuesandprovidetechnicaldirectiontoresolve.


• Drivecontinuousimprovementprojectstoimprovequality,reliability,safety,andcostsavingsthroughoptimizedprocesscontrolandmonitoringmethods,andtakingproactivestepstomitigaterisksorpointsofequipmentfailure.


• Workwithmaintenanceteamstoplanandexecutepreventative,time-basedaswellasbreakdownmaintenancetoaddressequipmentorcomponentfailuresorforperformanceoptimization.


• CommunicateandcoordinatewithFabEngineeringgroupstoprovidetechnicalsupport,supplyandqualityissueresolution,andcollaborationforimprovedsafety,quality,andsystemreliability.


• Ownthecommissioningandstartupofnewequipmentinstallationsthroughdesignreviews,equipmentinspections,functionalitytesting,pressuretests,DIWandchemicalqualifications,andanycode/complianceordesignissueresolution.


• Evaluatingfuturescenarioplanningincludinginfrastructurebudgetandscheduleforecasting,utilizationandcapacitydataanalysis,andreporting.


• Mentorandcoachjuniorengineersintheteamtosupporttheirtechnicaldevelopment


• SupportMOCs,PHAsandFMEAsforPSMandRMPcoveredchemicalprocesses.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Minimumbachelor’sdegreeinchemicalormechanicalengineeringorrelatedtechnicalfield.


• 4+yearsofrelevantoperationsexperiencerelatedtosemiconductors,oil&gasorchemicalmanufacturing.


• Preferred:Semiconductorgasandchemicalfacilities,oil&gasorchemicalindustryoperations,withanemphasisonsafetyandhazardousprocessmaterials.


• KnowledgeandSkills:MSOffice,AutoCAD,Piping&InstrumentationDrawings,ProcessFlowDrawings,UnderstandingofPSM-RMP,ChemicalEngineeringConceptsrelatedtoindustrialapplications,MechanicalEngineeringConceptsrelatedtoindustrialapplications,Processsafety,Processcontrols,Equipmenttroubleshooting,Dataanalysis,Datatrendingandmonitoring,Processmonitoringsystems(SCADAorDCS),Communication,Teamwork,Motivated,Self-starter,Collaboration,Analytical,Problem-solver.

the current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

This position may include access to controlled information or technology under U.S. export control laws.
