Job summary

Lingaro in the United States is seeking a Data Engineer to design, model and develop a complete GCP data ecosystem for a client, including Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions and BigQuery.

You will gather and document requirements, interact with clients, build scalable data pipelines, and optimize storage architectures such as data lakes and warehouses. The role emphasizes collaboration in a multinational environment and mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer with GCP cloud-based infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services.
• Experience building data pipelines in the cloud ingesting data from databases, APIs, or streaming platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; able to design and manage databases for performance.
• Experience with DBT, Dataform and modern data transformation tools.
• Knowledge of Airflow as orchestration tool.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and data integration from multiple sources.
• Open to learn new technologies; experience in multinational distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and develop the GCP data ecosystem for a client (Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, BigQuery).
• Gather, analyze, model, and document business and technical requirements; direct client contact.
• Model data from various sources; troubleshoot complex issues to deliver new features.
• Design and optimize data storage architectures (data lakes/warehouses); implement partitioning, compression, indexing; optimize retrieval.
• Identify and resolve data processing, storage, or infrastructure issues; monitor performance and perform root-cause analysis.
• Train and mentor junior data engineers.
