Job summary

enGen is seeking a mid-level Database Administrator to join our team in Hartford. The role requires hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a foundational understanding of on-prem Microsoft SQL Server.

Candidates should be proficient in Terraform, Git, and the Google Cloud CLI/SDK for automation and resource management. Preferred skills include Python programming for cloud-native apps and automation, with experience in Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), Spanner, and AlloyDB.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience in Information Technology.

Responsibilities

• Database Operations & Performance: Manage day-to-day operation, maintenance and performance tuning.
• Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and patch.
• Backup & Recovery: Maintain backup and recovery strategies.
• HA/DR: Monitor and maintain Always On or similar HA/DR solutions.
• Security Management: Manage logins, users, roles, permissions and compliance with security policies.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve database issues and support application teams.
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for database systems and processes.
