GCO Issue Validation Consultant - Technology Issue Validation Team

Position Overview: Responsible for supporting issue remediation efforts by ensuring validation activities demonstrate issue resolution and risk reduction effectively.

Note: Telecommuting/Remote work may be considered for well-qualified candidates outside the Truist footprint, with work hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify, measure, and monitor risks within business processes and activities.
• Perform testing, root cause analysis, and evaluate key risk metrics to assess control effectiveness.
• Recommend updates to business controls, policies, procedures, and risk documentation; advise on control improvements.
• Assist in remediating control failures.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on operational or regulatory compliance controls, risk mitigation, and control design.
• Maintain communication with risk management leaders and other partners regarding activities, trends, and events.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of experience in risk management, audit, or related fields within a financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of risk principles, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage projects independently and drive process improvements.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred:

• Six or more years of experience, especially within enterprise technology risk management or audit.
• Technical knowledge of software development, cloud, cybersecurity, data & AI, and issues validation.
• Ability to adapt to a high-change environment, work independently, and identify risk/control improvements.
• Knowledge of ARCHER GRC Platform.
