Please review the following job description:

Support the Internal Control Monitoring and Testing Managers in executing risk and control assessments, change risk initiatives, and aggregated control environment monitoring and trend analysis to minimize losses for the Enterprise. Evaluate, enhance, and develop risk-based strategies, tools, and techniques for ongoing monitoring and assessment of the control environment. Use control environment assessments and Enterprise Complaints results to proactively identify risks across all risk types impacting the Enterprise.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Lead design, execution, and continuous improvement of control monitoring across risk types within business units to ensure accuracy, consistency, and aggregation.
  • Understand key risks for medium to high complexity Business Units and partner with them to evaluate and test the effectiveness of key controls.
  • Conduct regular control assessments to evaluate Business Unit adherence to internal control standards.
  • Assess control effectiveness, identify issues, and partner with the business for corrective actions.
  • Incorporate results from quality monitoring, 2nd line testing, SOX testing, and complaints reporting into assessments and issue identification.
  • Interpret testing and monitoring results, identify trends and issues related to key controls.
  • Make recommendations and provide solutions for updating controls, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Maintain communication channels with Risk Management Leaders and other partners regarding control activities and trends.
  • Identify best practices across segments and collaborate to improve control and risk management techniques.
  • Ensure team deliverables meet standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise team members, including hiring, performance reviews, and recommendations for promotions or terminations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and training
  • Ten years of experience in a financial institution, with at least three years in management/leadership
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management principles, controls, and business practices
  • Ability to lead quality assurance and process improvement efforts
  • Knowledge of risk frameworks including FINRA, SEC, ERISA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and other laws
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Strong influencing and presentation skills
  • Proven team collaboration ability
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comfortable operating in a changing environment
  • Ability to assess adherence and identify improvement opportunities
  • Knowledge of ARCHER GRC Platform
  • Experience with Issue Validation, Control Testing, and compliance environments
  • Risk-related certifications such as CISA are a plus
