GCIB Data Architecture Program Lead, Managing Director

Locations: Charlotte, North Carolina; Jersey City, New Jersey; New York, New York

Job Description:

Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) is enhancing its data management capabilities, including executing a robust data architecture program. This pivotal role involves driving these enhancements, managing risks, and supporting business priorities from a data perspective. The role requires partnering with stakeholders across GCIB and the broader Enterprise to ensure regulatory compliance, strengthen data architecture and privacy frameworks, improve operational excellence, and achieve GCIB’s goal of being best-in-class. Key data management pillars include policy adherence, implementing balanced data strategies, developing data domains, designing controls, and supporting leadership in informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with the Data Strategy & Management Executive (DSME) to design and implement GCIB data strategies and initiatives roadmap.
  2. Transform data strategies into actionable plans, oversee their execution, and adapt as needed for short-term and long-term goals.
  3. Design and implement GCIB’s MNPI adherence strategies across processes and platforms.
  4. Document and oversee the data architecture oversight process and related control areas.
  5. Develop and ensure compliance of GCIB’s data architecture policies.
  6. Engage regularly with stakeholders across data domains to review impact areas.
  7. Implement and review the golden source structure for GCIB deal data and other needs.
  8. Participate in annual funding cycles for regulatory and strategic initiatives, ensuring priorities are aligned.
  9. Support audits, regulatory exams, and assessments, ensuring compliance and evidence thereof.
  10. Coordinate with product areas to establish consensus on new data domains and controls.
  11. Establish structured review channels to maintain adherence to data architecture strategies.
  12. Escalate risks, collaborate with stakeholders, and develop solutions with mitigation plans.
  13. Build strong relationships to facilitate buy-in, consensus, and conflict resolution in a large organization.
  14. Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-regional team aligned with BofA’s core values and GCIB’s goals.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role with cross-regional team management.
  • 20+ years in strategic risk program governance (preferred).
  • Experience with global data issues and regulations.
  • Understanding of GCIB business and products, with ownership of delivery.
  • Strong leadership and result-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for executives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Passion for fostering collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
  • Control-focused mindset with understanding of regulatory and reputational risks.
