Job summary

Guitar Center is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the team responsible for receiving, stocking, and merchandising merchandise to planogram standards. You will foster a culture of integrity, inclusion, and musical passion while driving store performance.

Successful candidates will have 3+ years in retail or warehouse ops, strong leadership, and excellent communication. This role requires weekend/evening availability and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a loud environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant work experience in retail or warehouse settings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Valid state driver’s license and automotive insurance.
• Able to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager to achieve EBITDA, sales, and margin goals.
• Ensure proper staffing and training of operations associates.
• Oversee shipping/receiving of gear and store items.
• Maintain warehouse organization and stock; uphold planograms.
• Manage loss prevention, safety, inventory control, and reporting.
• Conduct weekly signage and pricing audits to ensure planogram compliance.
• Lead in-store operations in manager’s absence and open/close the store.

As our Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the team accountable for ensuring that merchandise is properly received, properly stocked, brought to the sales floor, and merchandised according to planograms, promotions, and standards all while creating and nurturing our culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect.

As our Operations Manager, you will:

• Partner with the Store Manager and other members of the management team to achieve EBITDA, sales, and margin goals
• Ensure proper staffing levels within the department including hire and train the operations associates
• Assist in training all level of operations associates
• Shipping and receiving of gear and other store related items
• Warehouse organization and stocking and Maintenance of the facility
• Loss prevention and safety, inventory management, cash management, and business reporting
• Conduct standardized signage/pricing audits on a weekly basis, ensuring product is merchandised to planogram standards (including POP, SKU, and inventory integrity audits).
• Driving sales by acting manager in charge when necessary
• Opening and closing of the store
• Additional duties as assigned
