GBSD - Principal / Senior Principal Systems Interface Design Engineer – MBSE -2695-1 - R10188921

Join Northrop Grumman as a Principal / Senior Principal Systems Interface Design Engineer supporting the GBSD program. This role involves developing interface control models (ICMs) using 3D CAD (NX), collaborating within an IPT environment, and supporting digital transformation initiatives. Locations available in Roy, UT; Huntsville, AL; and Manhattan Beach, CA, with some on-site support required.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Create and implement 3D CAD models to define space and interface details.
  2. Support the capture of interface details through design reviews.
  3. Manage program processes and engineering approval workflows for ICMs.
  4. Deliver ICMs on schedule to meet program goals.
  5. Coordinate with various teams to prevent design clashes.
  6. Identify and resolve design gaps efficiently and innovatively.
  7. Ensure ICMs meet all design and specification requirements.
  8. Determine technical solutions aligning with product specs.
  9. Support digital transformation efforts related to ICMs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years (Principal) or 8+ years (Senior Principal) experience; advanced degrees may reduce experience requirements accordingly.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance and SAP approval.
  • Experience with systems engineering, design tools (TeamCenter/NX), technical drawings, and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience in creating ICM-like products and knowledge of model-based definition.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience with ICBM, MBSE, and high-level customer presentations.
  • Strong decision-making skills and leadership experience in engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and JIRA.

Salary ranges from $86,600 to $187,300 depending on experience and level.
