Job summary

Dynamic Manufacturing, Inc. in Hillside, IL is seeking a Gauge Calibration Technician to calibrate gauges, maintain records, and support continuous improvement on the shop floor.

You will read GD&T blueprints, use precision hand tools, and assist in developing calibration procedures to ensure product quality. You will train production staff, uphold 5S practices, and collaborate with vendors for timely service.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in a gauging or inspection position.
  • Understanding of blueprints, including GD&T.
  • Proficient with hand instruments: calipers, micrometers, dial indicators & gauge blocks.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • MS Word, Excel, Outlook proficiency; multitasking with attention to detail.
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or science preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Technical or mechanical background preferred; familiarity with QA systems in automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Mechanical drafting/AutoCAD/Inventor a plus.
  • Build relationships with team members and production staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inhouse calibrations of all applicable gauges.
  • Expedite repair or replacement of damaged gauges promptly.
  • Maintain records of calibration measurements.
  • Execute Gauge R&R studies when required.
  • Assist in developing new gauge setup and calibration procedures.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for onsite calibration or service.
  • Train production staff on gauge use and care.
  • Uphold the 5S methodology.
  • Identify improvement areas and implement plans.
  • Prioritize a complex workload with last-minute changes.
  • Readily communicate gauge problems and requirements.

Dynamic Manufacturing, Inc. is searching for a motivated Gauge Calibration Technician to join our rapidly evolving team! A successful Gauge Technician will be mechanically inclined, display a continuous improvement mindset, and ideally have experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

CoreResponsibilities:
  • Perform inhouse calibrations of all applicable gauges

JobQualifications:
  • 1-2 years experience in a gauging or inspection position.
  • Can demonstrate understanding of blueprints, including GD&T.
  • Can demonstrate proper usage of hand instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, & Outlook.Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
  • Bachelor of Science in applicable engineering or science field preferred, however candidates with relevant equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Tec hnical degree or mechanical background preferred
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems in automotive manufacturing preferred
  • Mechanical drafting, AutoCAD, and/or Inventor a plus
  • Build effective relationships with team members and production staff
