Job summary

Martinic Engineering Inc in Tolleson, AZ is seeking a skilled Calibration Technician to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measuring instruments. You will calibrate, test, maintain, and repair gauges, meters and test instruments to guarantee precise and consistent measurements across operations.

The role is on-site, full-time hourly, with duties spanning setup, inventory, documentation, and compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a gauge/calibration technician or similar role.
  • Knowledge of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Proficiency with calibration equipment and software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications.
  • Familiarity with calibration data analysis and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Set up gauges to support production needs.
  • Maintain calibration system per customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Receive and dispense supplies as required to operations personnel.
  • Verify stock and requisition supplies to maintain inventory levels.
  • Tag and requisition details for repair or inspection when needed.

  • Deliver gauge setups to designated areas and inspect incoming gauges.

Summary
Main Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measuring instruments and devices. Calibrates, tests, maintains, and repairs various types of equipment, including gauges, meters, and test instruments. Ensures that measurements taken using these instruments are precise and consistent.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Setup gauges to support production needs.
  • Maintain the Calibration System per all customer and regulatory requirements
  • Receive and dispense supplies and tools as required to operations personnel
  • Verify needs and requisition supplies and materials to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Verify stock received to order, label with USM part number and stock to shelves.
  • Maintain inventories of manufacturing supplies kept outside the crib area such as weld wire.
  • Visually inspect tools, gauges and fixtures returned to the crib by plant personnel to verify usefulness before restocking.
  • Tag and requisition details for repair or formal inspection if necessary.
  • Clean and inspect components of pre-set tools returned to the crib.
  • Replace with components, if necessary, tag for disposition details in question.
  • Prepare periodic inventory and maintain perpetual inventories of tooling and holders.
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment as required.
  • Perform entries into the company computer system for withdrawals and receipts.
  • Maintain tool supplies to operations.
  • Prepare tools/tooling for outsource or in-house repair or grind.
  • Maintain tooling pre-set call out sheets. Notify engineering of change required by using the Dimension Change Request form.
  • Deliver gauge set-ups to designated areas.
  • Identify and prepare incoming gauges for inspection.
  • Maintain security of crib at all times.
  • Maintain the crib area in a clean, neat and organized manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education, Training, Skills, and Experience Requirements
  • Prior experience as a gauge technician or calibration technician, with knowledge of relevant industry standards
  • Strong understanding of precision measurement tools to include calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Proficiency in using calibration equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with calibration software and data analysis tools
  • Understanding of basic mechanical principles and how to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble precision instruments for cleaning and calibration
  • High level of accuracy and precision when taking measurements
  • Ability to identify and document minute deviations from standards
  • Ability to interpret calibration data and identify trends
  • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot calibration issues
  • Clear and accurate documentation of calibration procedures and results
  • Adherence to quality control standards and recordkeeping practices
  • Technical Training or Certification preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Basic Math Skills
Physical Demands
  • Sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and bending to the floor
  • Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Clear vision, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception
  • May experience high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid.
