Job summary

Gateway Middle School, part of Gateway Public Schools, seeks a full-time math teacher for a temporary 2026-2027 term. The role focuses on teaching Common Core Mathematics to three sections, plus a 45-minute personalized learning block, four days a week, within a diverse school community that emphasizes equity and restorative practices.

You will collaborate across teams to plan curricula, lead advisory groups, and support students socially, academically, and culturally.

Qualifications

• Current California credential required (Multiple Subjects or Math).

This is a full-time temporary position: October 2026 - March 2027 - exact end date to be determined

Gateway’s Approach to Math:

• Block Math classes to support conceptual learning as well as fluency and skill development

Middle School Math Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach three sections of interactive, Common Core Mathematics, and a 45-minute personalized learning block four days a week
• Collaborate with teaching team to plan curriculum, lessons and assessments
• Lead a daily Advisory of 17-20 students, supporting their social-emotional growth and academic learning
• Collaborate with subject area and grade level teams to analyze student learning, differentiate instruction and build a positive school culture

Compensation Range:

• Commensurate with experience and FTE level, based on a full-time salary scale, for credentialed teachers, of $85,000 -$110,000
