As a Gatehouse Attendant at Larchmont Yacht Club, you will be an essential part of our security team, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and a proactive approach to security, property protection, and emergency response. You will be responsible for monitoring entry points, conducting patrols, enforcing club policies, and assisting in emergency situations when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Control access to the club by monitoring and verifying member, guest, and employee credentials.
• Conduct routine patrols of the clubhouse, grounds, parking areas, and other club facilities to ensure safety and security.
• Maintain an active presence at the gatehouse, responding to inquiries and providing assistance to members and guests as needed.
• Monitor and report any unusual activity, breaches, or safety hazards.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including fire alarms, break-ins, medical incidents, and disturbances.
• Administer CPR and First Aid when necessary.
• Communicate security concerns to the Director of Human Resources and/or General Manager.
• Ensure compliance with club policies, including monitoring employee conduct and preventing unauthorized removal of club property.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs of security incidents, patrols, and other relevant activities.
• Follow emergency response procedures, including contacting authorities when necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification required. (Training Available)
• Minimum of one year of experience in security, gatehouse operations, or a similar role preferred.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with members and staff.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Must be able to work independently and take initiative in enforcing security policies.
• Basic proficiency in security technology, including surveillance systems, preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, rain, and wind.
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, stoop, and pull as needed.
• Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels and potential slippery conditions.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
