Job Summary

The Gate and Parking Lot Attendant is responsible for welcoming guests, managing vehicle entry, and maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow at the Badlands Off-Road Park. This position ensures all park policies, safety rules, and applicable state laws are followed while providing excellent customer service to guests, vendors, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a friendly and welcoming greeting to individuals arriving at the Badlands and direct guests, visitors, and vendors to the appropriate locations in accordance with off‑road park guidelines.
  • Greet guests entering and exiting the park in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all guests and staff.
  • Monitor and respond to all Badlands radio communications in a professional manner.
  • Direct all guests to the Badlands Pro Shop for check-in prior to entering the park during office hours.
  • Verify that all guests possess the appropriate wristbands before entering the park.
  • Inspect vehicles entering the park to ensure no alcohol is present.
  • Ensure all vehicles display safety flags in accordance with park rules.
  • Immediately notify management of any incidents or unusual situations that may disrupt park operations.
  • Direct vehicle traffic in a safe, organized, and efficient manner.
  • Open and/or close park gates according to hours of operation, ensuring guests do not enter prior to official opening times.
  • Enforce all park rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Enforce all applicable Indiana state laws.
  • Maintain guard shacks, entry lanes, and parking areas in a clean, organized, and debris-free condition.

  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and remain calm in stressful situations
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, lift arms, and project voice for extended periods of time
  • Flexible schedule with availability for extended hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred but not required
