Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland in Garland, TX is seeking a Gastrointestinal Technician to support GI procedures under the supervision of a surgeon within a fast-paced ambulatory surgical setting.

The role requires room preparation, instrument handling, patient flow management, and clerical tasks. This is a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays, offering solid benefits and growth within the USPI joint venture.

Qualifications

• GI Lab experience required or equivalent.
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation of endoscopic equipment under surgeon supervision.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopes and instruments.
• Prepare the procedure room, stock supplies, and manage patient flow.

Gastrointestinal Technician at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland:

The GI Technician operates under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during both simple and complex endoscopic procedures. The physician, registered nurse, and GI technician collaborate in the procedure room to create ideal conditions for achieving positive patient outcomes. The GI technician is also responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and other instruments. Additional duties of the GI technician include managing patient flow, preparing the room for procedures, stocking supplies, ordering materials, and handling various clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a GI Lab
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred
• Current BLS required, ACLS preferred
