Job summary

Harris Health System, Inc. is seeking a Gastroenterology Technician I (GT I) to support the GI Lab team. You will prepare supplies, equipment, and rooms for GI procedures, handle specimens, and disinfect scopes according to standards, while assisting nursing and medical staff.

The role requires one year of patient care experience and a high school diploma, with BLS certification. Weekend, holiday, and on-call schedules are expected.

Job Summary

The Gastroenterology Technician I (GT I) perform a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning/disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT I demonstrate personal and professional effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Certifications

• a) Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
• b) Certificate: Other certificates as required by unit/service.

Work Experience

One (1) year of patient care experience.
