Job summary

MCV Physicians seeks a Gastroenterology Section Chief to oversee the division at Virginia Commonwealth University. The role leads GI services, endoscopy, outpatient and inpatient activities, teaching, service and research.

Clinical duties include GI clinics, inpatient management and endoscopy; teaching medical students and residents; and directing divisional programs and Sites of Excellence, while expanding collaboration with regional hospitals.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
• Facile with Diagnostic Endoscopy.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Virginia.
• Leadership experience in an academic division or department.
• Commitment to respect, professionalism and civility among diverse staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide GI clinical services in clinics on campus and outreach sites; inpatient management and endoscopy.
• Teach medical students, residents and fellows in GI management.
• Lead divisional programs, establish sites of excellence for Endoscopy, Esophagus and Nutrition, and oversee clinical activities.
