Job summary

GI Alliance in Flowood, MS seeks a registered nurse to provide professional GI patient care, including assessment, planning and evaluation of treatments in coordination with physicians and staff. You will ensure patient safety, document care and support patients through procedures.

Qualifications

• RN degree and nursing training from an accredited school.
• Current state RN license and BLS certification.
• Gastroenterology experience and IV placement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient consent for procedures and ensures patient confidentiality.
• Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems.
• Maintains/reviews patient records and ensures accurate documentation for follow-up.
• Responds to incoming procedure-related phone calls and coordinates care.
• Provides assistance during procedures and understands equipment used.
• Learn scope reprocessing techniques used by the facility.
• Administers medications and monitors patient response.
• Provides pre and post-procedure teaching to patients.
• Attends department meetings and in-services; performs other duties as assigned.
