Qualifications

• 1 year of Gastrointestinal experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California
• Education must meet the requirements for California licensure
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
• Fire Safety, within 90 Days

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards.
• Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs; gathers data and plans care accordingly.
• Cultural Sensitivity and Competence: communicates effectively with diverse patient populations.
• Demonstrates professional growth and self accountability to meet deadlines for mandatory requirements.
• Documents care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process and coordinates physician orders.
