Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced registered nurse for a full-time position in Wake Forest Health Network: Lexington — Gastroenterology. The role emphasizes evidence-based care, patient engagement, and safety, with a standard 40-hour week, 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

You will collaborate with the care team to monitor patients, adjust plans, and document in the EHR while upholding professional standards and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license with multi-state compact where applicable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Typically requires 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and adheres to ethical standards.
• Float to other units or facilities as needed to meet patient care needs.
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation and complete required education.
