Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent civilian Registered Nurse - Gastroenterology opportunity at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. The RN will provide care for GI/endoscopy patients, coordinate nursing care, and support active duty, retirees, and families.Requirements include an RN license in the US, BSN, BLS/ACLS, and at least one year of GI/endoscopy or medical/surgical experience. The role offers a 40-hour week and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university.
• Shall hold and maintain active RN license in any U.S. state or territory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac/ Life Support certifications per American Heart Association or Red Cross guidelines.
• Possess minimum one year of GI/endoscopy or medical/surgical RN experience within last two years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care through GI procedures and related services.
• Provide pre-procedural counseling and education for GI procedures.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for adults and geriatric patients.
