Job summary

AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a Gastroenterology Technician to support GI procedures and patient care in a military clinic environment. You will prepare rooms, assist during procedures, process endoscopes, and help with recovery and documentation.

Responsibilities include assisting with labs, specimen handling, scheduling, and training new staff. Requires BLS, HS diploma, and Medical Assistant certification; prior GI experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a current certificate.
• Minimum 1 year of medical setting experience in the past 36 months; GI experience desired.
• BLS certification required; ACLS recommended. Certifications must meet guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Set up, support, and take down GI procedure equipment for routine and emergent cases.
• Assist physicians and RNs during diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms and screen/check in patients; safely transport them.
• Obtain, monitor, and document measurements in the EMR.
• Perform lab draws and transport specimens per hospital protocols.
