Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a general GI staff physician to join the Gastroenterology team. The role involves delivering clinical care to patients in clinic, inpatient, and lab settings, with participation in night call and supervision of APCs.

The successful candidate will contribute to quality measures, handle patient and staff concerns, and participate in recruitment and quality improvement efforts within the PMG GI practice.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree required.
  • Current New Mexico license required.
  • Board eligible or certified in Gastroenterology.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers clinical care to patients in the PMG GI practice in clinic, inpatient and lab.
  • Participates in night call in rotation with the general GI practice.
  • Supervises the care delivered by APCs in the PMG GI practice.
  • Supports mechanisms to gather and report quality measures.
  • Receives and resolves patient, staff and provider complaints.
  • Participates in quality improvement plans.
  • Works with leadership on financial, clinical, and service quality performance.
  • Participates in recruitment and retention of physicians and staff.
  • Takes corrective action as arranged with accountability and authority.
  • Ability to determine care plans for patients and execute them.

Job Description
  • Delivers clinical care to patients in the PMG GI practice in all venues including clinic, inpatient and lab
  • Participates in night call in rotation with the general GI practice
  • Supervises the care delivered by APCs in the PMG GI practice
  • Support mechanisms to gather and report quality measures
  • Receives and resolves patient, staff and provider complaints.
  • Participates in quality improvement plans
  • Works with the leadership team including DPO, MSO, clinic manager and lab manager on the practice's financial, clinical, and service quality performance;
  • Participates in the recruitment and retention of physicians and staff who work in the practice
  • Takes corrective action when arranged with accountability and authority
  • Ability to determine care plans for patients and execute them.
  • Ability to teach, train and oversee APCs in the care they deliver to GI patients in clinic.
  • Performs other functions as required
Additional Job Description

Education: M.D./D.O. in clinical practice. Current New Mexico License required. Board eligible or certified in Gastroenterology.
