Job description

Facility near Pittsburgh, PA seeking GI locums coverage Rates: $4700 all-inclusive Job Details

• Coverage: Daily rounding Monday Sunday; 24-hour coverage with evening on-call (24/7 availability)
• Shifts per Month: Estimated 14
• Setting: Inpatient only
• EMR: Sunrise
• Call Type: In-House & Telephone (30-minute response time required)
• Direct Admissions to GI Service: No (Inpatient hospitalist service provides primary coverage)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Daily rounding on inpatients new consults & follow-ups
• Performing inpatient GI procedures as needed
• Responding to ED emergencies while on-call
• Estimated Workload:
  • 5-10 inpatient consults/day
  • Procedures may include:
    • 2-3 ERCPs/day
    • 2-3 Colonoscopies/day
    • 3-4 Endoscopies/day
• Common Cases Seen:
  • UGIB, LGIB, food impaction, dysphagia, abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, pancreatitis, etc.

Requirements

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible REQUIRED
• State Licensure: PA License Preferred (but will review candidates needing to obtain a PA license)
• Minimum Experience: 1 Year
• Certifications: ACLS & BLS REQUIRED
• DEA License REQUIRED

Call & Privileges

• Call Requirements: Evening on-call, 30-minute response time
• Admissions While On Call: 0
• Privileges Available: Full, Temporary, Emergency
• Days to Privilege: 45 days
