Job description

Hospital has a new opening for a Gastroenterology-Outpatient physician locum need in IL.

REQUIREMENTS: BC or BE in Gastroenterology, ACLS, BLS, Moderate Sedation.

LICENSE RESTRICTION: Candidates must have an ALREADY ACTIVE Illinois license, active IL DEA, and CS.

SCHEDULE: As soon as credentialed and payer enrollment completed. Full time, Monday-Friday, 8a-5p (Outpatient Clinic and GI Procedure Lab). MAC blocks start at 7:30a.

Proof of Covid vaccination is required.

• Practice Type: Group: Multispecialty Group
• Licensure Requirements: Active IL Medical, DEA, & CS licenses
• Number of Physicians in Department: 3 Gastroenterologists, 5 Colorectal Surgeons
• Boards & Certification Requirements: BE/BC Gastroenterology; ACLS, BLS, Moderate sedation
• Patient Population: 100% Adult and Geriatrics; Mixed Payer
• Average Number of Cases per day: 40% Clinic with 30-minute consults and returns; 60% GI procedure lab with procedures scheduled based on last 30 cases. Sedation varies between procedure sedation and MAC based on criteria. Separate MAC blocks for qualifying patients.
• Support Staff: 6 full-time and 2 part-time Ambulatory APPs; RN and CMA/MA in clinic; RN and Surg tech in Procedures.
• Locum Tenens Work & Call Schedule: M-F 8a-5p; MAC blocks start at 7:30a; No call; Closed on major holidays.
• Procedures: Outpatient Colonoscopy and EGD; inpatient procedures by GI Hospitalist; ERCP and EUS skills are a plus but not required.
