Position Overview

The University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Blood & Marrow Transplantation are seeking an experienced BC/BE medical oncologist specializing in gastrointestinal oncology for a growing practice. This position can be at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor, with options for tenure or a clinical track (non-tenure), depending on qualifications.

About the Institution

The Carver College of Medicine is part of a major research university, ranking 19th among public universities in NIH research funding. The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive center, collaborating closely with the College and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The program boasts a growing portfolio of investigator-initiated and phase I trials, many based on research conducted in University of Iowa laboratories. The hospital is one of the largest university-owned teaching hospitals in the U.S., located adjacent to the Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Division Details

The Division of Hematology-Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation has a broad mission, covering benign and malignant hematology and solid tumor oncology. Faculty lead over 200 active clinical research trials across various cancers and blood disorders and operate Iowa's only FACT-accredited bone marrow transplant unit. Services are provided at University of Iowa Health Care, the Iowa City VA Medical Center, and several regional outreach sites in southeast Iowa.
