Gastroenterologist Locums Job in Southern Illinois Seeking One Weekday of Scope/Endo-Suite Support July 2025 + Ongoing
Jackson and Coker is partnering with an Illinois facility seeking a GI to provide weekday endo-suite coverage starting this July. Due to a backlog of procedures and rising demand, they need help clearing cases. Flexible Monday-Friday scheduling is available from July & onward. Call coverage needs will come up intermittently, and credentialed GIs will have the first right of refusal for those needs.
Seeking weekday scope coverage (Monday - Friday, 7:30AM to 4-4:30PM) on the below dates:
No night or weekend call coverage currently needed in 2025 (unless schedules change), will have option to take call in 2026
July 28-August 1

Privileging Requirements:
Board Certification or true Eligibility required
Active Illinois license + CSR required
Must provide: a minimum of 100 dated case logs representative of the scope and complexity of the privileges requested from the last year.
Core privileges include: Proctoscopy and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy with and without biopsy or polypectomy including colonic dilatation, Complete enteroscopy including single balloon enteroscopy (DBE) with or without biopsy, Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with or without biopsy including hemostasis, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy device placement including stent or Bravo, use of energy sources (excluding lasers) during an endoscopic procedures, PEG, GI Motility studies, Capsule endos, hemorrhoid banding)
What to expect while on assignment:
Schedule: working in the endo-suite located on the main hospital campus each weekday from 7:30am-4:30pm
A schedule of 14-16 scopes per day; Will be working a 'flip room,' setting
Will have full anesthesia support + pre / post op patient coordination support
ERCP/EUS are preferred but are not a firm requirement
Will need to be credentialed at three different facilities (within same health system)
Information on facilities: 150+ bed facility, Epic EMR, level 2 trauma designation
