About the Clinical Educator Position

The Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an exceptional board-certified or board-eligible gastroenterologist at the Assistant Professor rank to join the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

The faculty member will be responsible for growing a General Gastroenterology practice at either a hospital site with our partner, Ascension Seton, or at the future site of The University of Texas Medical Center.

Ascension Seton is the leading healthcare provider in Central Texas, serving an 11-county area with a population of 2 million. It operates 5 major medical centers, 2 community hospitals, 3 rural hospitals, a mental health hospital, several rehab/medical centers, and 3 primary care clinics for the uninsured.

The position includes inpatient gastroenterology consults, outpatient clinics, and endoscopy procedures. There are no scheduled outpatient clinics during inpatient weeks. The role offers protected time for academic activities and may include teaching residents. The hospital and clinics are located in Central Austin.

Qualifications

• MD degree with Board Certification (or eligibility within 2 years of residency) in Internal Medicine.
• Training in advanced endoscopy is encouraged.
• Experience in quality improvement initiatives.
• Eligibility for appointment at the (Clinical) Assistant Professor level.
