Job summary

Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the GI team. You will perform patient assessments, order and interpret tests, prescribe therapies, and collaborate with physicians to manage complex cases within the endoscopy workflow.

The PA will support gastroenterologists, assist with procedures, provide patient education, and participate in quality and safety initiatives while ensuring care continuity across shifts.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by ARC-PA or equivalent.
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in practice states.
• Current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
• NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, including histories and physical exams.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in compliance with regulations.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on health plans.
• Assist with procedures and coordinate care with GI team.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and support quality initiatives.
