Florida Digestive Health Specialists, LLP in Tampa, FL, is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. You will handle billing, coding (ICD-10 and CPT), and AR management to ensure timely submission of claims and accurate accounts receivable management.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in medical billing/coding, CPC/CCA/CCS-P options, strong Excel skills, and experience with EHR systems (eCW preferred).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED, certificate).
• Minimum 2 years as Medical Biller/Coder in multispecialty setting, preferably gastroenterology.
• CPC/CCA/CCS-P certification options accepted.
• Strong computer skills, especially Excel; ability to read CPT/ICD-10 and follow Medicare guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Code medical procedures, diagnoses, and services using ICD-10 and CPT.
• Handle office- and procedure-billing; manage AR and claims submission.
• Obtain prior authorizations via portals or calls to insurers.
• Review denied claims, resubmit, and initiate appeals as needed.
• Provide billing support to patients via phone and secure messaging.
• Maintain billing standards per federal, state, and payer requirements.
• Assist Central Billing Office with chart audits and reconciliations.
