Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant I to join our team in Denton, TX. This role blends clinical and administrative tasks, supporting physicians with patient care and managing clerical duties to keep the clinic running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (or MA diploma) and at least 1 year of recent medical facility experience. EMR proficiency, strong communication, and compassionate care are essential. EOE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or MA diploma from an accredited program.
• 1 year of recent experience in a medical facility as a MA; gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Entry level (1–4 years) with supervision; more experience requires supervision.
• Strong knowledge of health care field and EMR systems; good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned including patient flow, walking transfers, vital signs, and charting.
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities such as handling medical records, scheduling, insurance verification, and patient demographics.
• Fulfills organizational responsibilities, respecting patient rights and emergency codes; communicates with supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
