Job summary

Medicus Healthcare Solutions in southeastern Virginia is seeking a board-certified gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage at a partnering hospital.

Schedule includes Mon-Fri 7a-5p and weekend 7a-7a; beeper calls 5p-7a. Endoscopy suites with on-site lab and X-ray, Epic EMR, ACLS/DEA required; ERCP preferred. Travel and lodging are provided with comprehensive support for licensing and credentialing.

Qualifications

• Board-certified gastroenterologist with active credentials.
• Experience with gastroenterology procedures in a hospital setting.
• ACLS and DEA required.
• ERCP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide gastroenterology care in a hospital setting.
• Perform GI procedures; ERCP preferred when available.
• Respond to beeper call shifts during coverage.
• Coordinate with endoscopy suites and on-site lab/X-ray services.
• Document care in Epic EMR.

Medicus has partnered with a hospital in southeastern Virginia that has an opportunity for a Gastroenterologist to provide locum tenens coverage.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday-Friday (7a-5p) and Saturday-Sunday (7a-7a)
• Call requirement: 5p-7a beeper shifts
• Setting: 2 endoscopy suites with on-site lab and X-ray services
• Daily Volume: 20-25 patients
• Daily Admissions: 8-10 patients
• Daily Procedures: 4
• General GI skills required
• ERCP preferred
• EMR: Epic
• Must be board-certified
• ACLS and DEA required
• Paid travel & expenses
