LocumTenens.com is seeking a Gastroenterologist (MD/DO) to cover inpatient and clinic gastroenterology needs on an on-site assignment in Virginia's Eastern Shore. The role features a day shift Monday–Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend coverage 7:00 AM–7:00 AM and call 5:00 PM–7:00 AM.
The clinician will manage a daily census of 20–25 patients, oversee 8–10 admissions, perform about 4 procedures daily (2–4 add-ons), and EPIC EMR is used for documentation; ERCP proficiency is preferred.
This health system facility maintains the clinical infrastructure and established protocols necessary to support inpatient and clinic-based gastroenterology locum tenens coverage. The facility is equipped with 2 endoscopy suites, on-site laboratory services, and on-site X-ray, supporting a structured gastroenterology program with a permanent staff of 3 MDs. The facility is structured to ensure continuity of specialized care for an adult patient population.

The gastroenterologist will provide inpatient and clinic-based gastroenterology coverage on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM at this on-site facility. Call coverage is a required component of this assignment, structured from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM on an unrestricted basis, with an average of 1-2 callbacks expected. Clinical responsibilities include managing an average daily census of 20-25 patients, 8-10 admissions, and an average of 4 procedures per day, including 2-4 add-on procedures; ERCP proficiency is preferred for this assignment.
